I
started shooting motorcycles at track days a few years ago
when I got a decent
digital camera. That turned out to be a really great place
to learn since it’s a closed event and a captive subject.
It also helped that I personally knew and had ridden with the
majority of the riders and trusted them. But I really enjoy
the diversity of life at Deals Gap and trying to capture the
essence of the subject whether it is a Goldwing, Harley or
sportbike. While many of these photos are what I would call
documentary, meaning that the frame is predominantly the bike
and the people, there are those that will give you more than
just that. The Dragon is all about the curves, and I love to
find a place to perch that really gives you the viewer (or
subject) a better sense of where that ribbon of asphalt trailing
behind you leads.
When you search for your photos in my online
store, keep in mind that shots with multiple bikes in them are
usually sorted
on the first bike in line, or the one closest to the camera if
shot from behind. Classifications of some bikes are less clear
than others, so you may have to view more than one folder to
find all of your photos.
